Role Overview
As a Product Marketing Manager, you’ll play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping how merchants experience Affirm’s products. You’ll help define our product strategy, lead high-impact go-to-market initiatives, and develop compelling narratives that drive business outcomes.
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong product intuition, strategic thinking, and a bias for action. You’ll bring deep customer and competitive insights to everything you do, and operate as a true partner to Product, Revenue (including Sales, Customer Success and Enablement), Partnership, and Analytics leadership.
Responsibilities in this Role
- Shape Product Strategy Through Insights: Partner closely with Product to shape the roadmap by identifying new opportunities, uncovering unmet customer, merchant, and partner needs, and incorporating feedback loops. Leverage customer research, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform product development and strategic prioritization.
- Lead GTM Strategy and Execution: Own the end-to-end strategy and execution of high-impact GTM initiatives across your product area—from beta to full launch. This includes crafting compelling value propositions, developing segmentation strategies, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and measuring launch success. Additionally, you will analyze complex data sets to uncover insights that inform segmentation, positioning, and refine product marketing strategies. Drive meaningful business impact through scalable programs that accelerate adoption and growth.
- Accelerate Product Adoption and Growth: Design and execute programs that drive merchant engagement and adoption at scale. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Enablement, and Partnership to ensure message consistency. Analyze product adoption to inform optimization strategies and identify growth levers.
- Enhance Strategic Client Engagement: Develop messaging and materials for key client-facing moments, including bi-annual roadmap meeting with top merchants. Develop product vision and translate into a compelling external narrative that strengthens partnership, builds trust and drives continued engagement.
- Operate with Agility and Drive Execution: Navigate ambiguity with confidence and bring clarity to complex, cross-functional projects. Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously, anticipate risks, and maintain momentum through thoughtful planning and execution.
- Leverage Business and Product Acumen: Develop a nuanced understanding of your product’s functionality, as well as the revenue and cost drivers that impact performance. Use this knowledge to shape GTM and product decisions that align with company objectives.
- Collaborate across Teams to Drive Alignment: Build strong relationships across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, and other key teams. Lead cross-functional meetings, resolve cross-functional dependencies, and ensure tight alignment on GTM plans and product initiatives.
- Be a Culture Carrier: Serve as a champion of Affirm’s values and culture, consistently fostering collaboration, transparency, and innovation within the team and across the organization. Lead by example in creating an inclusive and growth-oriented environment, promoting open communication, and encouraging others to take risks and innovate.

- Experience navigating ambiguity and driving alignment in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally.
- Outstanding prioritization and project management skills, with a keen ability to balance short-term execution with long-term strategy.
