Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to join Cardiology Specialists of Acadiana on a remote-capable basis. Responsibilities include patient education, triage, and coordinating care with physicians and staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Louisiana LPN license, and at least 2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting. This role supports remote/LA-based clinics with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited certified medical assistant or accredited nursing program.
• Maintain valid Certification or Louisiana LPN license
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in performing clinical activities in a medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and non-routine care and education to patients, assisting Physician and Charge Nurse as needed; accurately document all care provided in patient chart
• Triage patient calls and respond to all requests within 24 hours; notify Physician of urgent matters and all test results
• Perform clinic duties in an efficient manner to maintain smooth flow of clinic; prepare patient for examination, test(s) or procedure(s); conduct physician ordered procedures and referrals, schedule outside facility testing and procedures
• Work with Authorization Specialists to ensure procedures are pre-authorized for reimbursement
• Follow safety guidelines and universal precautions; keep work and clinical areas clean and neat
• Represent company positively; adhere to Standards of Behavior; foster patient service-oriented teamwork
• Respect and maintain patient privacy at all times
• Take daily assignments from physician’s RN or Nursing Manager

Education
