Job summary

Block, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for Privacy Engineering to build internal tools and infrastructure that protect customer privacy across Block's engineering ecosystem. You will collaborate with product engineering teams, privacy counsel, security, and platform groups while working fully remotely.

This role emphasizes responsible data use, privacy by design, and mentoring other engineers. You will design services to support data privacy initiatives, surface data flow and access control,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience writing quality, scalable, robust, and testable code.
• Interest in learning new technologies or languages.
• Experience cutting across services, infrastructure, or frameworks to meet security/privacy goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop services or infrastructure that support data privacy initiatives and consumer privacy rights.
• Help define the technological future of privacy at Block.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate privacy technologies into solutions.
• Provide mentorship and reviews for teams working with privacy technologies.
• Contribute to monitoring and stability of existing privacy-focused systems.
