Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in software engineering with privacy-focused technologies.
• Strong understanding of online privacy threats and tracking mechanisms.
• Experience building privacy solutions such as tracker blocking or differential privacy.
• Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl.
• Ability to lead complex projects from concept to delivery.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ownership mindset and initiative in independent work with team alignment.
• Interest in mentoring engineers and supporting colleagues.
• Willingness to work remotely with an international team and travel ~twice a year.

Responsabilités

• Lead high-impact engineering projects from proposal through deployment and evaluation.
• Design, develop, and maintain privacy-preserving systems across search and AI services.
• Build systems to enhance search indexes and AI capabilities while protecting privacy.
• Develop crawler-based tech to detect and address online tracking methods.
• Implement and optimize privacy features including web tracking prevention and email protection.
• Write maintainable code in Go, Node.js, Python, and Perl where appropriate.
• Own critical privacy components ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• Engage in privacy reviews and audits to align with privacy principles.
• Communicate decisions and progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth.
