Alpha Home Health & Hospice in Mount Vernon, WA is seeking an Insurance Prior Authorization Specialist to verify coverage and obtain authorizations for patient visits. This on-site role offers competitive pay and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of insurance authorization/billing experience in home health/hospice.
• Experience with Home Care Home Base is required.
• Demonstrated cooperation and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage for primary and secondary payors.
• Use UGS/DDE and EDS to verify Medicare/Medicaid eligibility.
• Obtain visit authorization by providing medical records.
• Enter data into patient records in HCHB.
• Maintain payor files with up-to-date requirements for authorizations.
• Coordinate with contract, clinical, and office staff to ensure collaboration.
• Prepare patient co-pay estimates and notify scheduling of visits.
• Audit and follow up on authorized and unauthorized visits in HCHB.
