Job summary

Pharmacy Careers is seeking a fully remote Prior Authorization Pharmacist to review medication requests from home, applying evidence-based criteria with a focus on patient access and regulatory compliance.

With a PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy and an active U.S. pharmacist license, you will work in a flexible, schedule-conscious role that avoids weekends or holidays in most arrangements and supports ongoing clinical development within managed-care settings.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
• Active, unrestricted U.S. pharmacist license (multi-state preferred).
• Hospital, ambulatory, community, or clinical pharmacy experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Review prior authorization requests for clinical appropriateness and plan criteria.
• Apply evidence-based guidelines, formulary rules, and regulatory standards to approve/deny requests.
• Communicate determinations to providers and members with professional documentation.
• Collaborate with medical directors and clinical teams on complex/high-cost cases.
• Document decisions in compliance with CMS, state, and health-plan requirements.
• Support process improvements to reduce turnaround times and improve member experience.
