Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Solutions Architect Principal for a fully remote role in the VA department. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in cloud design and a Public Trust MB I. You will design secure Azure architectures, guide cross-functional bid teams, and ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions for government projects.

Remote position with U.S. citizenship required. Expect collaboration with BD, proposal, and enterprise teams, and leadership of technical staff across project

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, highly available, scalable cloud architectures.
• Expertise with core Azure services: VMs, Storage, SQL, VNet, Functions, AD, ARM templates, Monitor, DNS.
• Experience implementing Azure security services and best practices.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking: VNet peering, ExpressRoute, VPN, Private Link.
• Ability to design and govern multi-subscription Azure environments.
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, Azure CLI for automation.
• Experience with monitoring/observability: Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Sentinel.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR/PCI DSS and regulatory considerations.
• CI/CD with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).

Responsibilities

• Leverage domain expertise to understand customer requirements.
• Lead the development of a complete solution meeting all requirements for a competitive proposal.
• Collaborate with BD, capture, and proposal teams to optimize solutions.
• Identify staffing needs for Pre-Bid and Proposal activities.
• Coordinate assignment of technical personnel to proposal efforts.
• Partner with technical leadership to develop and estimate solutions.
• Provide SME input to meet customer technical, schedule, and cost goals.
• Design, implement, and govern secure, scalable Azure cloud architectures.
• Develop new concepts, techniques, and standards.
• Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams; ensure policy alignment.
• Lead multiple complex projects and ensure timely delivery.
