Job summary

GitHub, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the Copilot code review system, steering model selection, evaluation, and end-to-end reliability across VS Code, Copilot app, and Copilot CLI.

Qualifications

11+ years of software engineering or related field with production systems experience.
Proficiency in multiple languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, Python.
Advanced degrees acceptable with equivalent experience as alternative.

Responsibilities

Own design and implementation of the review agent workflows and models.
Collaborate with labs and research to push model capabilities forward.
Define metrics for evaluation and ensure high-quality offline and online reviews.
Maintain high throughput and reliability across integration points like VS Code and Copilot apps.
Mentor senior engineers and contribute hands-on in coding and evals.
Drive frontier AI workflows to accelerate software development pipelines.
