Job summary

Maximus seeks a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This role will establish architecture and engineering best practices, guide complex technology initiatives, and partner with development, cloud, security, and operational teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions supporting enterprise and government programs.

This is a fully remote position. Requires 15% travel.

Qualifications

• 15+ years enterprise IT experience preferred, with solution architecture, cloud platforms, and government program experience.
• Strong coding skills with .NET 4 and .NET 8+.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Vue.js.
• Solid SQL Server experience and data modeling skills.
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with OIDC, SAML 2.0, and JWT authentication.
• Familiarity with AWS services.
• SSRS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and Containerization best practices across the enterprise.
• Lead assessment of business needs and align them with industry best practices.
• Mentor DevOps Engineering team to promote competencies and excellence.
• Define, develop, and implement the configuration management system supporting the SDLC.
• Manage source code in VCS, including branching and merging; mentor juniors.
• Collaborate with Cloud Services for installations/upgrades/deployments/containers.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning.
• Research and resolve complex issues in VCS and CI systems.
• Work with developers, testers, and IT ops to automate builds and deployments.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects and ensure service delivery excellence.
