MAXIMUS is seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This fully remote role requires travel and partnership with development, cloud, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions for enterprise and government programs.

The position emphasizes setting architecture and engineering best practices, guiding complex initiatives, and mentoring the DevOps

Qualifications

• 15+ years enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, and delivery leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices across the enterprise.
• Lead architecture initiatives and align them with business goals and government programs.
• Mentor DevOps engineers and promote best practices.
• Design and implement configuration management supporting the SDLC.
• Oversee source code management, builds, and deployments; mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities.
• Resolve complex problems in version control and CI systems.
• Ensure secure software design and compliance with standards.
• Manage large, technically complex projects and ensure service delivery excellence.
