Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to lead enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, and automation efforts. You will establish best practices, guide initiatives across development, cloud, security, and operations, and mentor the DevOps team to deliver scalable, reliable solutions for government programs.

This is a fully remote position with 15% travel. The role demands strong leadership across SDLC, security, and modern software delivery practices, including .NET, JavaScript, SQL

Qualifications

• Define and implement enterprise DevOps and containerization best practices.
• Recommend and adopt industry best practices to support business goals.
• Lead DevOps engineering teams and promote excellence in delivery.
• Define, develop, and implement configuration management for SDLC.
• Mentor junior staff in source code management and CI/CD practices.
• Work with cloud services to enable deployments, upgrades, and containers.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning.
• Strong knowledge of .NET, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Vue.js, and SQL Server.
• Experience with OIDC, SAML 2.0, JWT authentication and secure software.
• Familiarity with AWS services and SSRS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices across the enterprise.
• Serve as a thought leader in aligning tech with business goals.
• Lead training and instill best practices in the DevOps team.
• Define, develop, and implement the configuration management system for the SDLC.
• Manage source code within the Version Control System; mentor others.
• Work with Cloud Services to perform installations, upgrades, deployments, and containers.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities.
• Research and resolve complex technical problems in version control and CI systems.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and IT operations to automate builds and deployments.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects and ensure delivery excellence.
• 15+ years enterprise IT experience preferred.
