Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead IAM and security tooling, ensuring robust identity controls and threat mitigation across the Bank's networks and applications.

You will design, implement, and mentor on secure authentication practices, while aligning with regulatory requirements and operational goals. This remote role supports US hiring in NC, AZ, and TX.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of federated authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC).
• Experience with IAM/SSO platforms (Okta, Ping).
• Scripting in Python and PowerShell.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) design and implementation.
• Automation of identity/security workflows (Okta Workflows).
• Understanding of step-up/adaptive authentication.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering and implement enhancements for information security.
• Oversee security projects and risk mitigation activities.
• Develop and refine monitoring, incident detection, and playbooks.
• Advise management on security protocols and incidents.
• Mentor associates and lead technical teams during initiatives.
• Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis.
