Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher company, seeks a Principal Clinical Scientist to lead clinical trial strategies across US and EU regions for diagnostic programs. Remote based (or onsite in Chaska, MN) with a focus on regulatory compliance and trial design.

You will design studies, liaise with regulators, and collaborate with R&D, Medical Affairs, Quality, and Commercial teams while mentoring scientists and staying current with standards and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field with 9+ years in clinical research.
• Master’s degree with 12+ years, or Doctoral degree with 4+ years in US/EU trials.
• Deep understanding of clinical study design and methodology in diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry for US/EU markets.
• Ability to identify and solve complex issues in clinical trial conduct and interpretation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design clinical studies and evidence strategies for regulatory submissions (FDA 510(k)/PMA, CE‑IVDR).
• Act as scientific and clinical liaison with regulatory bodies and key opinion leaders.
• Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Quality, and Commercial teams.
• Author and review clinical and regulatory documents including study reports and technical files.
• Mentor junior scientists and maintain expertise in evolving regulatory standards and diagnostic technologies.
