Job summary

Vulcury Venture Studio is seeking a part-time PR intern to build its media presence across Southern California. The role focuses on earned media—pitching journalists, securing coverage, and building lasting press relationships—with social media amplification of earned coverage.

You will target real estate, consumer ventures, education, and SoCal tech/business media, working directly with leadership in a hands-on apprenticeship, not content scheduling.

Qualifications

• Hands-on media relations experience pitching journalists yourself.
• At least one earned placement you secured or contributed to.
• Sharp, persuasive and well-structured writing.
• Avail 15-20 hours per week for the full 12 weeks, starting immediately.

Responsibilities

• Media Relations & Press Outreach: map SC journalists in real estate, startups, consumer, and education.
• Write targeted pitch emails and follow up directly with reporters.
• Draft press releases and media briefs.
• Maintain press contact database and track coverage.
• Identify trade publications and pitch contributions.
