Job summary

Sharp Think, Inc. is seeking an Account Executive to join our PR team, supporting lifestyle and home & design practices. The role focuses on earned media relations and events, with a remote base in the New York City metropolitan area and optional in-person work in city coworking spaces.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of PR experience, strong writing, and a proven record of securing media coverage in an agency or in-house setting. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of PR agency, in-house or media/editorial experience.
• Ability to think critically and provide strategic insight.
• Ability to multi-task in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with PR databases/tools (Cision, PR Newswire, etc.).
• Flexible, driven, and passionate about communications.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Create targeted media lists for online, print and broadcast media, and digital influencers.
• Draft pitches and conduct proactive outreach to media outlets.
• Draft press materials: press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, bios, case studies.
• Daily client interaction to update and report on media relations.
• Manage daily account activities with junior team and coordinate materials.
• Attend media interviews and network with reporters and editors.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for strategy and new business.
• Supervise junior staff on accounts and projects as needed.
• Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and communicate progress.
