Job summary

The Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR) at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) seeks applicants for a postdoctoral research position in behavioral science related to insurance. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a related field and experience using quantitative or qualitative methods.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in behavioral science, decision science, economics, communication, or risk management and insurance within past two years (or expected by fall 2026).
• Experience designing and conducting research using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral science research related to insurance topics (catastrophe, climate risk, affordability, data privacy, AI, health).
• Analyze data and present results clearly in written and oral form; publish in peer-reviewed venues when possible.
• Collaborate with CIPR researchers and NAIC staff; pursue related research interests and contribute to interdisciplinary conversations.
