Job summary

Together AI is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer focused on post-training to partner with top customers on post-training efforts, RL, and fine-tuning. You will guide data strategy, experiment design, and evaluation, sizing compute, and helping translate customer goals into measurable model gains.

You will work across data strategy, algorithm selection, and production readiness, shaping deployments while collaborating with sales, capacity, and product teams to deliver high-impact,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical ML/AI role with hands-on post-training experience.
• Expert-level hands-on post-training LLM work with fine-tuning and RL (e.g., SFT, LoRA, DPO; GRPO, PPO).
• Strong experimental rigor: designing controlled experiments, ablations, and robust evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Define and guide data strategy for model post-training, diagnose data quality issues, and advise data generation.
• Recommend post-training approaches per use case and lead experiment design.
• Size RL and fine-tuning workloads; collaborate with sales and capacity teams on deals and forecasts.
• Lead technical execution from scoping to production for strategic accounts; ensure milestones are met.
• Provide feedback to product and research, contributing code, recipes, and reference implementations.
