Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate in economics, public policy, political science, law, or a related field.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to summarize dense material such as rules and research.
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Located in and authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research for public comment letters on proposed state rules and regulations.
• Draft and fact-check sections of comment letters with citations and data.
• Track state regulatory proposals, legislative activity, and agency actions.
• Collect, organize, and document data from government sources.
• Maintain measures of regulatory burden and related policy variables.
• Conduct literature reviews and summarize research for ongoing projects.
• Draft policy briefs and research summaries, aiding editing and citation.
• Assist with descriptive analysis and basic charts using spreadsheet software.
• Participate in research team meetings and contribute to project planning.
