Job summary

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellows that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at nonprofits across the United States.

Fulcrum Foundation seeks an intern to support state regulatory reform work, reporting to the Policy Director and Legal Director. The role emphasizes legal research, AI tooling, and drafting materials for legislators and agencies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in law or public policy program or recent graduate.
• Strong attention to detail; comfortable trying new software tools.
• No programming background required; experience with AI tools or low-code platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with cost-benefit analysis is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes, regulations, and guidance documents to identify regulatory reform initiatives.
• Verify legal citations in Foundation materials for accuracy and completeness.
• Test AI tools to assess their handling of regulatory analysis.
• Build simple AI-powered applications to support regulatory research.
• Review draft materials and suggest edits for accuracy and persuasiveness.
• Write and publish short pieces on regulatory reform issues when opportunities arise.
