Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a skilled Application Engineer to map data sources, manage data movement, and integrate interfaces within PLM/MDM environments. You will contribute to service-oriented components, participate in design decisions, and test configurations under senior guidance.

The role emphasizes working with ALM/PLM platforms, big data technologies, and cloud-enabled architectures, with readiness to collaborate on vendor evaluations and to ensure data quality at entry points.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Application Engineering
• Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Responsibilities

• Execute data mapping, data movement, and interface tasks that support data quality within PLM and MDM platforms.
• Participate in technical discussions for assigned projects and document the resulting design decisions.
• Develop, configure, and test designs for assigned components and tasks.
• Follow established enterprise architecture standards and domain governance.
• Research and evaluate tools and emerging technologies to support assigned project tasks.
• Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platform components that are service-oriented and reusable across the team.
• Build and test proof-of-concepts (POCs) using established, hardened design patterns under guidance — hands‑on execution is a core part of this role.
• Work with the project lead to understand requirements and align assigned work with project goals.
• Collaborate with the business function to address data‑related problems involving systems integration and product structure.
• Apply methods and validation mechanisms for ensuring data quality and accuracy at the point of entry.
• Support vendor evaluation activities within the PLM functional space by gathering information and providing input.
• Build peer and cross‑functional relationships to share best practices and improve team effectiveness.
• Experience working with enterprise platforms around ALM and PLM.
• Exposure to microservices, SOA, Big Data systems (Hadoop, etc.), enterprise search tools (Elasticsearch, Solr), cloud technologies, and DevOps.
