Job summary

Atomic Canyon is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the infrastructure for Neutron, our generative AI search solution for nuclear energy plants. You will manage Kubernetes across Azure AKS, customer clouds, and bare metal in plant networks, with strong emphasis on security, scalability, and observability.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, production Kubernetes experience, and deep knowledge of Terraform, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux), and CI/CD with GitHub

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Production Kubernetes experience, including troubleshooting a cluster you did not build.
• Depth in at least one major cloud provider, with Azure strongly preferred; comfort working across providers.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate containerized Kubernetes workloads across Azure AKS, customer-owned clouds, and on-premises bare metal.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, with GitOps delivery through ArgoCD
• Design and implement the security architecture of deployments: network segmentation, egress control, TLS and certificate automation, RBAC and secrets handling
• Operate data and identity layer: OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, Keycloak, RabbitMQ
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Own observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and alerting
• Support GPU and LLM serving infrastructure and model gateway configuration
• Provide on-call production support and postmortems
• Collaborate with customer IT, security, and compliance teams through deployment cycles
• Contribute to SOC 2 program: controls, evidence, remediation within SLA
• Collaborate with product and application engineers to architect infrastructure for new capabilities
