Job summary

LMI Government Consulting seeks a Platform Engineer to design, deploy, operate, and sustain secure cloud-native platform capabilities for a Department of War mission partner. The remote role centers on AWS-hosted Kubernetes that connects to the DoDIN, requiring an active Secret clearance and periodic travel for integration and testing.

The engineer will manage infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and container onboarding while aligning with security baselines and RMF/ATO requirements.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance.
• 5+ years in platform/cloud engineering or DevSecOps.
• Hands-on with DODIN-connected systems and DoD network requirements.
• 8570-compliant cybersecurity certification.
• Experience deploying and upgrading Kubernetes in AWS.
• Experience with Linux administration and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with container tooling (Docker/OCI).
• Experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and GitOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, operate, and sustain AWS-based platform services for mission-critical apps.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters, RBAC, ingress, storage, and upgrades.
• Build repeatable infra using Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent tooling.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and artifact repositories.
• Onboard and sustain containerized apps across environments.
• Integrate platform services with DoDIN, IAM, PKI, logging, and monitoring.
• Implement secure configurations per security baselines and RMF/ATO.
• Monitor platform health, security posture, and performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot Linux, containers, Kubernetes, networking, and security issues.
• Perform patching, backup, recovery, and controlled upgrades.
