Job summary

Law seeks an Associate Attorney – Plaintiff-Side Litigation to join a highly accomplished California trial boutique. This fully remote role offers ownership over cases and direct mentorship from veteran trial attorneys.

The practice emphasizes high-value, complex cases including sexual abuse, catastrophic injury, and product liability, with significant client interaction and the potential for long-term growth in a flexible remote setting.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Strong civil litigation, research, and legal writing skills.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
• Ability to independently manage litigation responsibilities and deadlines.
• Trial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage plaintiff-side litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Develop case strategy alongside experienced trial attorneys.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and substantive litigation documents.
• Handle written discovery and discovery disputes.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Work directly with experts, investigators, and other litigation professionals.
• Analyze complex liability, causation, and damages issues.
• Maintain meaningful client relationships and provide case guidance throughout the litigation process.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other ADR.
• Prepare matters for trial and participate in trial proceedings based on experience.
• Assume increasing case ownership and autonomy as experience and trust develop.
