Job summary

Catalyst Education is seeking a remote, part-time contractor with a background in undergraduate physics laboratory instruction and coding to convert paper-based labs into interactive digital modules.

You will implement autograding scripts using JavaScript, Python, HTML, LaTeX, and JSON, and help deliver engaging lab content on Catalyst's platform. Flexible hours and early project start through 2027 are offered for strong performers.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or assisting in undergraduate physics labs.
• Proficiency with HTML and LaTeX for typesetting.
• Strong scripting in JavaScript and Python; JSON data handling.
• Experience with AI tools for drafting/reviewing work preferred.
• Willingness to work at least 10 hours per week (20 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Convert traditional physics lab experiments into interactive digital modules using markup tools.
• Select and embed interactive elements to improve student engagement and lab clarity.
• Incorporate real-world lab parameters into data entry validation rules.
• Write JavaScript evaluation logic to analyze student data and provide feedback.
• Draft and debug content using HTML, LaTeX for equations, and JSON for configurations.
