Job summary

HURC Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Physician Advisor Lead to provide clinical leadership, mentorship, quality oversight, and operational support to the Physician Advisor team while maintaining an active production workload.

This senior role partners with clients and internal teams to improve medical necessity determinations, P2P performance, denials prevention, and utilization management outcomes across client engagements.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted U.S. physician license.
• Board certification in an appropriate specialty.
• Significant Physician Advisor experience with active production.
• Strong P2P, medical necessity, and payer processes knowledge.
• Experience mentoring physicians preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day support to HURC Physician Advisors.
• Maintain an active production workload and perform Physician Advisor duties.
• Serve as a senior clinical resource for escalated utilization review and P2P cases.
• Establish and promote consistent clinical, documentation, and client-service standards.
• Conduct and oversee regular Physician Advisor quality and call audits.
• Monitor KPIs including P2P completion, callback responsiveness, overturn rates, quality, and timeliness.
• Identify performance trends and coaching opportunities.
• Collaborate with HR and Operations on performance reporting and improvement initiatives.
• Support onboarding, training, and professional development.
• Develop and maintain educational resources and best practices for P2P processes.
