Job summary

Good Samaritan Society seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to plan, organize and deliver therapy programs across post-acute, long-term care and home health environments. You will conduct examinations, set treatment plans, and educate patients and families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Expect variable schedules with daytime shifts, potential supervision of staff, and opportunities across multiple Midwest sites.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
• When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and delivers physical therapy programs that help clients/patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and prevent deformities.
• Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease; documents plans and progress.
• Educates clients/patients/residents and families about treatment plans and home exercises; ensures alignment with age-related needs.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students and provide ongoing education to peers as determined by leadership.
• Participates in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society and Sanford Health; collaborates with providers, case managers and other partners.
