Job summary

Turing is partnering with a leading AI research lab to bring domain experts directly into frontier AI development. We seek PhD-level scientists in biology and life sciences to advance and evaluate cutting-edge AI models, shaping how AI systems reason about science.

Contract: 40 hours/week for up to 5 weeks; remote work with overlap in PST. Strong scientific communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or Life Sciences required.
• Hands-on research experience with peer-reviewed publications preferred.
• Able to design genuinely difficult problems beyond textbook knowledge.
• Excellent written English and ability to explain complex reasoning clearly.
• Comfort working independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging, research-grade scientific problems for frontier AI models.
• Evaluate model outputs for scientific accuracy and reasoning quality.
• Provide clear, structured feedback on results.
• Help build benchmarks and datasets in your area of expertise.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate workflows into training tasks.
• Adapt to evolving project scopes as research priorities shift.
