Job summary

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) is seeking a Part Time Peer Support Specialist II for the 988 Lifeline Services. The role involves engaging callers by phone, chat, or text, assessing needs, and providing peer support with referrals.

Training and support are provided within a busy, mission-driven team. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 4 years in mental health, and personal recovery experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of full-time experience in the mental health care field.
• Be a self-identified current or former user of mental health or co-occurring services with at least one year of peer-support experience.

Responsibilities

• Interact with client in a therapeutic manner.
• Assess service requests/referrals and respond per procedures.
• Provide peer support and appropriate referrals or disposition.
• Document disposition and ensure call/chat/text completion.
