Job summary

Our client, a leading organization in the industry, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Accountant to join their team in a hybrid role based in Northeast New Jersey. You will support the Finance Department for the North America Market, focusing on payroll and benefits accounting, journal entries, and close processes.

The ideal candidate has solid accounting knowledge, experience with SAP and Blackline, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of general accounting activities and journal entry preparation.
• BS degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• Working knowledge of SAP, MS Office Products, and Blackline.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close journal entries, including payroll, benefits accounting, deferred compensation, and EPP.
• Partner with the Payroll team to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.
• Prepare manual intercompany payroll invoices and review monthly payroll variance reports.
• Investigate and analyze variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate existing processes and propose improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
