Job summary

United Digestive is seeking a Remote Medical Scheduler to manage patient appointments, either by telephone or electronic communication, for procedures and follow-up visits. The role includes documenting patient information accurately and coordinating with physicians and the endoscopy center.

Responsibilities include handling Portal and website inquiries, mailing information packets to new patients, and answering questions from referring providers while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CMA preferred.
• 2–3 years of call center, eCW, specialty clinic, and/or gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and typing accuracy are required.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls promptly while delivering high-quality patient care and service.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage cancellations and no-shows for visits and procedures.
• Maintain/update physician schedules and endoscopy block times according to availability.
• Collect and record accurate patient information per documentation requirements.
• Coordinate scheduling of procedures in hospital and endoscopy suites as needed.
• Handle information requests via Patient Portal or website promptly.
• Mail or email information packets to new patients.
• Provide information to patients and referrals about medical treatments or procedures.
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing customer service training.
• Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
