Job summary

The New York Post Group is seeking a Part-Time Social Media Editor for its California Post newsroom. This remote-eligible role (up to 28 hours per week) focuses on packaging and publishing content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Threads, and more, with an emphasis on engaging, fast-paced social storytelling.

You will produce short-form videos, memes, graphics, and live-event content, edit video, engage audiences, and stay ahead of trends.

Qualifications

Two years of professional experience managing social media for a news organization.
Experience in multimedia content creation and social publishing across digital platforms.
Proficiency in video and photo editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and Canva.
Strong editorial judgment with excellent writing and copy-editing skills.
Knowledge of social media trends, best practices and emerging platforms.
Hands-on experience managing large social media accounts with growth and engagement.

Responsibilities

Package and publish content for California Post social media accounts across platforms.
Create short-form vertical videos, memes, graphics, and engagement-focused posts.
Film, edit, and produce video content from events for social distribution.
Pitch and execute timely, newsworthy, and trending content ideas.
Engage with audiences across California Post social channels, including moderating comments.
