Job summary

Spate is seeking a part-time contract product designer to shape the dashboard where brands explore trends and generate reports with our AI assistant. You’ll decide what features to build, not just how they look, and work with our frontend lead to deliver proposals, flows, prototypes, or full Figma specs.

You will uncover user pain points through calls, feedback, and usage data, then frame problems and propose directions.

Qualifications

2+ years of product design experience in a real product.
Strong opinions on what to build and why, defending and revising ideas.
Portfolio showing how you framed problems and solved them, with a case starting from a fuzzy problem.
Experience with dashboards, analytics, or reporting tools.
Experience with design systems and scalable components.
Curiosity about AI products; hands-on exploration preferred.
Strong written communication for remote, part-time work.
Freelance/contractor experience managing your own time.
Fluent in Figma and comfortable using AI tools in workflow.

Responsibilities

Own the dashboard experiences from concept to launch.
Collaborate with frontend lead to deliver proposals, flows, prototypes, or full Figma specs.
Identify user pain points via calls, feedback, and usage data; frame problems and propose solutions.
Define how AI features are presented and how insights are sourced.
Own the design system principles and the Figma side; partner with engineers to unify design and code.
Help ensure AI quality and review feedback as the product evolves.
