Job summary

Trauma Law California is seeking a part-time law clerk or paralegal for our criminal defense practice, with remote work possible and an office in Fresno if you’d prefer to work in person.

The role involves maintaining client files, filing correspondence and discovery, handling criminal case intake, and coordinating with clients, courts, other counsel, and vendors. Hourly compensation will depend on experience, between $20 and $28 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience organizing large volumes of discovery according to protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work and manage tasks independently.
• Familiarity with court rules, calendaring, e-filing and filing procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all client files
• File correspondence, pleadings, discovery and other documents according to our protocols
• Criminal case intake
• Communicate with clients, the courts, other counsel, and vendors
• Assist with preparation for trial and other hearings
• Drafting motions
