Job summary

Japan Society is seeking a Part-Time Japanese Language Instructor to lead online teen courses from a remote, U.S.-based location. This role pays $70 per hour of instruction and follows an established curriculum for middle and high school students.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (MA preferred), at least one year of classroom teaching experience, and strong English communication skills. Proficiency with Zoom/Teams and digital tools for writing instruction is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MA preferred.
• Minimum of one year of Japanese language teaching in structured classroom setting.
• Proficient with Zoom/Teams and digital presentation tools; use of iPad/tablet with stylus for writing instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach online teen courses following the established curriculum syllabus.
• Create supplemental teaching materials for teen pacing.
• Coordinate with Education & Family Department staff on schedules and updates.
• Attend instructor meetings before/after each semester to discuss program improvements.
• Design and introduce new theme- or content-based courses aligned with student interests.
