Job summary

OpenTrain AI is seeking engineers to evaluate and improve AI systems remotely. You will create repeatable evaluation environments from realistic coding challenges and write golden solutions that demonstrate expected outcomes.

You’ll investigate bugs across codebases and assess the quality of colleagues' code and submissions. This role is fully remote in the United States, with about 15–20 hours per week and pay per completed task at $50–$100/hour.

Qualifications

• Strong programming ability and hands-on coding in at least one of Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++ or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures, plus core software engineering principles
• Ability to debug complex systems, resolve defects, improve performance, and clearly explain technical decisions
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.

Responsibilities

• Create repeatable evaluation environments from realistic coding challenges
• Write golden solutions that demonstrate what the finished code should produce
• Investigate difficult bugs and slowdowns across multiple codebases
• Assess the accuracy and clarity of colleagues' code and technical submissions
