Job summary

24-MAG LLC is recruiting an experienced Autodesk Inventor parametric CAD specialist for a fully remote, contract-based role focusing on FreeCAD. You will develop and edit fully parametric models, interpret technical drawings, and ensure GD&T conformance and manufacturability across multiple processes.

You should bring hands-on CAD experience, with strong problem solving and precise documentation, and be comfortable with scripting/automation to streamline workflows.

Qualifications

• 4 years hands-on parametric CAD for model editing.
• 10 years experience may suit complex model creation.
• Strong Autodesk Inventor expertise.
• Experience with FreeCAD and other parametric platforms relevant.
• Prior FreeCAD experience ideal for FreeCAD focus.
• GD&T with ASME Y14.5 or equivalent standards.
• DFM across multiple manufacturing processes.
• Experience in molding, sheet metal, CNC, casting, forging.
• Strong assembly-level modelling skills.
• Technical drawing interpretation and documentation experience.
• Reverse-engineering (scan-to-CAD) experience valued.
• Familiar with CAD automation and scripting (Python, iLogic, VBA, NX Open).
• Strong problem solving and precise attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication.
• No AI-training/model-evaluation experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop fully parametric 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies.
• Edit and update existing parametric models as specs change.
• Create and interpret detailed technical drawings.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 or equivalent standards.
• Evaluate dimensions, tolerances, datum structures, and geometric controls.
• Audit CAD models for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Reverse engineering and CAD automation to improve workflows.
• Collaborate on design for manufacturability across processes.
