Job description

The Immigration Professor is a growing immigration law firm based in Los Angeles that celebrated its 30th year of operations last November. We pride ourselves on providing our clients with excellent service, which is documented with our many 5-star ratings on Yelp. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic office where your contributions can directly impact the success of our firm.

We are currently seeking a part-time paralegal with specific experience in employment-based immigration. The position is fully remote in West Virginia. The candidate will work directly with clients via phone and on Zoom to draft their immigration forms and put together their petitions. Excellent writing skills are required.

We are only considering candidates with a minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal at an immigration law firm - no exceptions - with experience drafting these types of petitions:

  • N1W
  • O1
  • EB1

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Working with clients to assist our attorneys in putting together evidentiary packets in support of the client’s case.
  • Presenting forms and packets for review and revision by the supervising attorney.

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience as a paralegal at an immigration law firm. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
  • Strong technical skills - the position is fully remote.

Desired but not required:

  • Experience with filing PERM cases (ETA 9089); H-4 EADs, B-2 tourist visa extensions, changes of status from B-2 to F-1 student; F-1 reinstatement.
  • Experience with case management software: Docketwise, Dropbox, and MyCase.
