Talis Group’s client is a well-established and highly respected east end law firm, winner of the 2023 Best of the Best Top 10 Family Law Attorney award in Louisville, KY. This firm wants to hire a Family Law Paralegal. The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing support services including answering phones, document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. This position is 100% remote but will require the occasional in person meeting. Prefer candidates in the Louisville, Southern Indiana area.
Highlighted Duties:
- Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
- Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
- Assist with scheduling/ calendar management.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Past experience in family law/ domestic relations as a paralegal.
- E-filing experience.
- Discovery experience.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism.
- Must have the ability to take notes, stay organized and prioritize tasks.
- Good computer skills required.
- Paralegal degree or certification desired.
