Position: Staff Engineer (Python)

As a Staff Engineer, you will be a key member of our development team, responsible for leading the development of complex, scalable, and high-performance Python-based applications. Your main focus will be on developing and supporting efficient, reusable, and highly scalable APIs and components to enhance user experience across platforms. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and coordinating with various infrastructure teams are essential aspects of this role. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality products is vital. You will participate in planning and strategy, taking full ownership of your solutions.

Responsibilities & Skills

You should:

• Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable, and secure systems
• Serve as a technical mentor and coach for engineers across multiple teams
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to align technical strategies with business goals
• Define and promote engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, observability, and deployment processes
• Drive technical initiatives to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
• Participate in technical reviews, architecture discussions, and incident postmortems
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies or tools to improve productivity and quality

Required Skills (Python):

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from IIT, NIT, or reputed institutes
• 10-14 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in Python and Django
• Experience integrating third-party APIs (REST, SOAP, streaming services)
• Familiarity with database technologies, especially MySQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis
• Experience with version control systems such as GitHub
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale distributed or cloud-native systems (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms
• Effective communication skills and stakeholder influence
• Passion for mentoring and developing engineers
