Remote Opportunity – Own the Supply Chain. Subcontract Manager Wanted (Aerospace/Defense)

The Kesterson Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Subcontract Manager for a remote role supporting aerospace and defense manufacturing, focusing on precision-machined parts and assemblies. This position is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area.

Responsibilities:
  1. Source and manage suppliers for machined parts and outside processing (plating, NDT, heat treat, etc.)
  2. Issue POs, track deliveries, and manage pricing and terms
  3. Drive supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery
  4. Ensure compliance with flowdown requirements, AS9100, and ITAR regulations
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams
Qualifications:
  1. 5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or precision machining supply chain
  2. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  3. Experience with outside processing and CNC part sourcing
  4. Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and government or commercial contracts
  5. Ability to work remotely (U.S.-based preferred, NY area for occasional site visits)
