Job Description

The ROCC Manager will help build the control center that monitors and operates renewable energy production facilities. They will develop and manage a business plan and budget, design, order, and oversee the facility, equipment, and personnel required for the operation of the control center. The manager will hire, train, and support personnel who facilitate daily operations of the ROCC. This position manages and supports the daily operations of the renewable energy control center and handles reporting/settlement duties for the company’s projects and third-party projects. The manager will monitor, schedule, and manage company operations within the ROCC facility, ensuring CIP compliance and that safety and reliability standards are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Build out the new operations center through hiring, developing, and strategizing for the team.
  • Oversee SCADA development, data analytics, customer reporting, asset management, dispatching, troubleshooting, and other efforts to increase productivity of all field assets.
  • Manage and schedule the team responsible for monitoring and operating solar and storage assets from the Denver, CO remote operations center, ensuring 24/7 coverage according to operational protocols.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations, Engineers, Vendors, and Customers to operate the fleet safely and effectively.
  • Recruit, develop, and train the Remote Operations team.
  • Manage and coach team members to meet objectives and goals.
  • Ensure SCADA applications and fleet-wide tools meet the team’s needs.
  • Draft and implement operational protocols in collaboration with Field Operations, Customers, and support teams.
  • Review, update, and create strategies to ensure the accuracy of real-time power output.
  • Monitor weather patterns and anticipate issues due to weather impacts.
  • Directly switch electrical substations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of remote operations experience.
  • High understanding of SCADA and networking systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of NERC CIP requirements/regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of renewable energy power plant operations and equipment.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within large teams and field personnel.
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to Denver, CO.
