Principal Financial Group, a leading financial services company, is seeking a Business Operations Associate to support the operational framework of the business. You will work with home office staff and the field to provide operational support, maintain agent profiles, and improve processes.

The role emphasizes analytical, leadership and communication skills, with opportunities to train financial professionals and contribute to team projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of financial services, insurance or retirement experience
• FINRA NRFO registration
• Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation and planning skills
• Must be a team player with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Must be results driven and detail oriented with the ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft applications

Responsibilities

• Independently perform support functions related to non-proprietary business activity, including managing agent profiles in internal database, fixed annuity desk, variable agent appointments, and broker of record changes
• Provide backup support to variable/fixed indexed annuity desk, including application uploads/downloads, carrier confirmations, and documenting approvals
• Support varied business processes such as commission inquiry assistance, succession planning support for home office and FPs, and process expenses
• Build relationships with financial professionals by assisting with training on reporting functions and website functionality
• Lead or participate in projects to develop and implement administrative procedures and workflow improvements
• Perform other job-related duties as required
