Job summary

Western Power Pool in Portland, OR is seeking an Operations Analyst to analyze large data sets, produce actionable reports, and support the Reserve Sharing Group. The role emphasizes accuracy, proactive communication with operators, and cross-team collaboration.

You will engage with roughly 30 member utilities, manage on-call rotations, and contribute to program documentation, audits, and compliance activities while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years' experience in a heavy data analytics role.
• Experience turning large data sets into actionable reports and metrics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel with formulas and functions.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with external stakeholders.
• Strong organization and accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Self-motivation and experience in remote teams.
• Participation in rotating on-call schedule.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the Reserve Sharing Group by collecting and analyzing data and writing reports.
• Flag potential compliance issues against NERC standards.
• Proctor monthly testing of the Reserve Sharing Program with operators.
• Serve as a regular contact for member participants on event questions.
• Develop deep expertise in WPP programs and assist in navigation of requirements.
• Lead meetings, testing, training, onboarding, and implementation activities.
• Document processes and build tools to improve data collection and analysis.
• Cross-train on other WPP programs and participate in industry discussions.
