Overview

Deriva Energy, a portfolio company of Brookfield Renewable U.S., a nationwide leader in sustainable energy, provides wind, solar, resilient backup power, and managed energy services across the U.S. With a total electric capacity of over 6,000 megawatts of nonregulated renewable energy, we are seeking a Remote Operations Center Generation Operator based in Charlotte, N.C.

Position Summary

The role involves maintaining daily logs of system events, providing immediate verbal notifications of unusual activities, preparing daily power nominations and reports, overseeing safe and reliable operations of wind, solar, and battery assets, monitoring real-time power output, and ensuring site availability and compliance with curtailment directives. The candidate will schedule and coordinate load levels, perform administrative duties, and ensure effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  1. Operational Monitoring and Planning: Maintain detailed knowledge of generating units' operating characteristics, including availability, energy yield, and efficiency.
  2. Communication and Team Building: Engage with teammates in real-time operations, promote reporting proficiency, and support skill development.
  3. Compliance Assurance: Be familiar with maintenance, scheduling, EAPs, and notifications protocols; assist outage scheduling to ensure procedures are followed.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School/GED
  • 2 years of equivalent experience

  • 24/7 shift work, 12-hour rotating shifts, on-call responsibilities
