Job summary

Weekday AI is seeking experienced Software Engineers and Open Source Contributors to help develop and evaluate next-generation AI systems through high-quality software engineering tasks.

You will design robust, reproducible coding environments to assess AI models, create golden reference solutions, and build reliable evaluators to ensure task requirements are met. Prior AI experience is not required; strong coding standards and debugging skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background across Python/Java/C++/Go/Rust/TypeScript.
• Experience building backend systems, scalable services, APIs, or complex apps.
• Demonstrated open-source contributions with public portfolio.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, debugging, and software design.
• Experience with automated testing, code validation, and QA practices.
• Ability to identify and fix complex bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Experience adding new features and improving codebases.
• Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic, challenging programming tasks with bugs, features, refactors, and optimization.
• Create reproducible environments, dependencies, tests, and execution instructions.
• Develop golden reference solutions illustrating expected behavior.
