Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator, RN to support early phase oncology trials under senior staff. You will ensure protocol adherence, consent, data capture, and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

You will monitor day-to-day trial conduct, prepare source documents, assist with SAE reporting, screen patients, and train staff on protocols and GCP. Strong organizational skills and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• RN license in state practicing.
• 2 years of clinical research experience.
• Basic understanding of oncology clinical trials, particularly Phase 1 studies
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, study staff, and external stakeholders
• Working knowledge of GCP and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and clinical trial management software

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Study Sponsors, CROs, staff regarding questions and protocol status.
• Monitor day-to-day conduct of studies to ensure protocol compliance and GCP.
• Create/review forms for trials to assure protocol compliance.
• Maintain files using standardized study document labeling and filing procedures.
• Implement initial protocol and amendments, training staff involved in patient treatment.
• Maintain an up-to-date contact list.
• Assist with patient screening and eligibility determination.
• Facilitate informed consent process ensuring consent is completed.
• Prepare and manage source documents per SOPs.
• Recognize deviations and address corrective actions with leadership.
• Assist data coordinator with CRF completion and query resolution.
• Work with PI to complete and submit Serious Adverse Event reports.
• Perform protocol-specific closeout activities with data coordinator.
• Provide documentation for all deviations.
• Ensure team adherence to assigned protocols.
• Perform telephone triage assessments when necessary.
• Provide patient education regarding trial participation and potential side effects.
