Job summary

Piedmont Global is expanding its network of professional interpreters to support high-quality consecutive and simultaneous interpretation across on-site (OSI), video remote interpreting (VRI), and over-the-phone (OPI) settings. We welcome interpreters of Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, Korean, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, Farsi, and Mandarin to apply.

These are 1099 Independent Contractor positions. Assignments may occur on-site, via VRI, or over the phone depending on client needs.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years interpreting experience (paid or volunteer).
Two professional references or one reference and one letter of recommendation.
Native-level English with proficiency in an additional language.
Medical interpreting requires CHIT or equivalent 40-hour training.
Access to equipment and a quiet workspace for home/office use.
Will provide certifications or test results when available.

Responsibilities

Serve as interpreter across in-person, video remote (VRI), and over-the-phone (OPI) settings.
Provide accurate interpretation with fidelity and confidentiality.
Convey speaker tone, nuance, and intent across languages.
Perform sight translation of documents as needed.
Adhere to professional ethics and client-specific confidentiality requirements.
Coordinate with clients to match language, location, and availability.
