Job summary

Mercor is seeking an Office-Suite Expert for flexible, contract-based work. You will open, inspect, and assess Excel, Word, and PowerPoint documents, compare candidate responses, and provide detailed feedback to help refine AI-model outputs.

Remote, 10–20+ hours weekly with immediate start. Ideal candidates have 3+ years creating and reviewing office documents, strong Excel prowess, and meticulous formatting skills across Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• 3+ years professional experience producing and reviewing office documents.
• Excel/Spreadsheets: financial modeling, data analysis, pivot tables, formulas.
• Word/Documents: long-form drafting, formatting, styling, templates.
• PowerPoint/Presentations: slide design, layout, data visualization, brand decks.
• Own and use Microsoft Office desktop suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - required.
• Independent in opening and inspecting downloaded office files on your machine.
• Sharp eye for formatting and presentation detail.
• Excellent written communication with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Open and inspect downloaded office artifacts across Excel, Word, and PowerPoint formats.
• Perform side-by-side pairwise comparisons of two candidate responses and select the stronger one.
• Evaluate content and rendering of documents—layout, formatting, visual structure, formulas, progress against task.
• Grade AI-generated outputs against structured rubrics.
• Provide written feedback to the research team to improve model behavior.
• Participate in onboarding office hours and calibration sessions.
