Job Description

  • Provide comprehensive academic support to VN/PN, BSN | MPEN nursing students throughout the nursing program, providing CMS coaching to improve and master CMS performance.
  • Conduct individualized, 30-minute coaching sessions with VN/PN and BSN | MPEN students focusing on content mastery, test-taking strategies, and time management.
  • Support at-risk students identified through CMS performance data to improve understanding and application of concepts, ATI products, and resources.
  • Conduct proactive tutoring sessions for students preparing for their first CMS exam.
  • Develop and lead CMS Boot Camps on weekdays and one weekend per month to address knowledge gaps, enhance test-taking skills, and build confidence.
  • Maintain coaching availability as scheduled, including holding sessions one weekend per month.
  • Collaborate with faculty, NCLEX success specialists, ATI, and other stakeholders to align strategies with student data and institutional goals.
  • Track and document meetings, progress, engagement, and outcomes in PBI licensure dashboard to measure coaching impact.
  • Monitor student progress post-coaching, maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Utilize ATI Student Champion resources to support students.
  • Provide ongoing encouragement, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Generate weekly reports on sessions, no-shows, challenges, follow-ups, and outcomes for leadership.
  • Manage CMS schedules to ensure coaching availability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Range: $75k-$85k. Actual starting pay varies based on education, experience, skills, location, and budget.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) and RN licensure required.
  • Minimum 2 years in nursing education, student coaching, or academic support with VN/PN and BSN students preferred; clinical experience also preferred.
  • Expertise in CMS and nursing curriculum assessment strategies.
  • Passion for student success and supporting at-risk learners.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely in a national coaching model.
  • Proficiency with virtual communication platforms and LMS.
