Job summary

Scale.jobs is seeking an NLP Research Engineer to bridge state-of-the-art language model research with production constraints. You will fine-tune and evaluate transformer models, build robust evaluation pipelines, and collaborate with engineering to deploy NLP solutions in client environments.

You will work with researchers on the latest literature while documenting architecture, results, and limitations for technical teammates and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of applied NLP or ML engineering experience; hands-on model development.

Responsibilities

• Fine-tune and evaluate transformer models for NLP tasks (NER, relation extraction, classification, generation).
• Build evaluation frameworks with datasets, human evaluation, and automated regression tests.
• Develop preprocessing pipelines for unstructured text including OCR post-processing and entity normalization.
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy models within latency and cost constraints.
